Monday Dragon

I went to our local historic reuse shop for some fierce inspiration. Just had to purchase this board that had so many random holes drilled into it that light peaked through some. The holes become the art. The wood is now layered with  mythic power. The moon came first, bearing wisdom, wit and learning. Dragon is fueled by imagination. I just made that up because i was surprised by what i created. Cryptic energy lead me here, i thought i was going to make a fox. A story reveals itself and this may be the start of one. The crow is arriving in a short animated film, this summer.

Thank you for the Monday Dragon, Alice. As always, your play with words, colors and images inspires me.

Love the principle and the painting!

A favorite and perhaps relevant poem about found flaws in brilliant art--Yeats's "Lapis Lazuli."

As always, I admire and enjoy your work.
